Le monde sans fin was the publishing phenomenon of the year in France. The comic, published in October 2021 by Dargaud Verlag, was the bestseller in French bookstores in 2022. Sales are estimated at over 500,000 copies, including 12,000 during Christmas week alone.
The comic was written by climate and energy engineer Jean-Marc Jancovici and drawn by cartoonist Christopher Blain, an author known for works such as Isaac the Pirate, Gus and Secrets of the Quai d’Orsay. It addresses the topic of environment and energy, explaining the profound climate changes our planet is undergoing, the current consequences and what could happen in the future.
The volume is on the podium of the best-selling books of the year in France, followed by the latest novels by best-selling authors Joel Dicker with L’affaire Alaska Sanders (in Italy: Il caso Alaska Sanders) and Pierre Lemaitre with Le grande monde (in Italy: Die big world).
Le monde sans fin is currently unpublished in Italy (the original edition can be purchased online here). The publishing house Oblomov Edizioni had announced it for 2022 in the catalogs reserved for the book trade, but the comic has not yet been published.
