It was Jack McBain who gave the Arizona club this surprising victory. The attacker rushed to the net to take advantage of a setback.
On the winning goal, Durzi picked up his third assist of the game, increasing his point total to four in the game. It was the first time in his career that the 25-year-old guard was on the scoresheet so often.
The Avs' goals were the work of Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, Jonathan Drouin and Logan O'Connor.
