A cyclist in critical condition in Old Quebec Port

Two serious accidents occurred within minutes in the Quebec City area Thursday night, one of which sparked fears for the life of an adult cyclist who was struck by a vehicle on Dalhousie Street in the Old Port.

The accident happened around 6:50 p.m. near Place des Canotiers, where the Loto-Québec Grands Feus are held.

During the intervention of the Cooperative of Ambulance Technicians of Quebec (CTAQ), the victim was unconscious and suffered significant head trauma.

“You can fear for your life,” said rescue service chief Rémy Chouinard-Pelletier.

A few minutes earlier, the emergency services responded to another serious collision in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures at the intersection of Chemin du Lac and Rue Pierre-Drolet.

A motorcyclist in his 30s was seriously injured in a collision with a vehicle, according to CTAQ.
