HOBBIES. Granby Cultural and Community Life, the City of Granby and the Young Ambassadors of Granby (JAG) invite people to participate in the activities that Granby youth are conducting this fall. On the program: a Halloween party for 12 to 17 year olds and a second edition of the video game fair for the entire population.r
On Saturday, October 28th, from 7 p.m., young people aged 12 to 17 are invited to an evening full of secrets and breathtaking costumes! JAG has spooky surprises, a fascinating dance floor and delicious treats in store for you. It’s also the perfect opportunity to show off your sewing skills and creative side as there will be a costume contest with photo booth.
The monstrous party takes place from 7pm to 10pm at l’Escale, 80 rue Albert. ID is required upon entry. Only people aged 12 to 17 are allowed access. Free admission.
Video Game Fair
Video game enthusiasts of all ages are invited to the second edition of the video game fair on November 4th from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.! The event will take place again this year in the center of Notre-Dame (270, rue Principale). Entry and all activities are free. It will be possible to buy sweets, popcorn and others ($).
Areas are offered for playing various games: retro, modern and virtual reality. There will also be speedrunning (the art of completing a video game as quickly as possible) demonstrations by professionals. Tournaments with the games Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Smash Bros. are also offered. Ultimate.
“I am very pleased that the JAG is offering these two activities again this year, which were very much appreciated by the young people last year. The Halloween Party is an opportunity for young people aged 12 to 17 to come together in an event 100% designed with and for them. “The video game fair is also a unique, unifying event of its kind,” said Mélody Poulin, head of social development at Vie culturelle et Communauté de Granby.
