The owner of an Atlanta movie theater managed to return a wallet lost 65 years ago to the owner's family.

The object was found by workers during renovations in a room hidden behind a wall that was then used as a coat closet, CNN reports.

Plaza Theater owner Chris Escobar was determined to find the wallet's owner, or at least her family, to give it to her.

“It’s a portal that takes us into the past,” he says. When you think a family in our neighborhood lost it so long ago, I said to myself: Imagine if we could find them.”

After finding the name of the property's owner, Floy Culbreth, Mr. Escobar and his wife began an extensive search, particularly on social media, and managed to find Ms. Culbreth's daughter, Thea Chamberlain.

“It's very touching,” she said in an interview with CNN. A lot of memories came to mind.”

Inside the wallet were items such as an ID card, a raffle ticket for a 1959 Chevrolet, credit cards without magnetic stripes, black and white family photos and several other frozen memories. At the time.

Ms. Chamberlain, now 71, even found items that once belonged to her, such as notes from a doctor's appointment and health insurance cards.

The family gathered in November to examine these items.

“There were children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Ms. Culbreth,” says Chris Escobar happily. This meant that multiple generations of Culbreths were able to enjoy this lost piece of their family history.”
