Influencer and pugilist Jake Paul suffered the first defeat of his professional boxing career in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
The 26-year-old lost the flag to Britain’s Tommy Fury via split decision. Two of the three judges gave cards 76-73 in favor of the winner, while the dissenter favored Paul 75-74.
The Youtuber had known the joy of victory in his first six fights, he who entered the world of boxing three years ago. He came very close to maintaining his spotless record. In the eighth and final round against Fury, Paul knocked out his rival. However, the latter got up and turned in victory.
“It’s a humbling experience. I’ll cash in and come back stronger,” Paul said after the duel.
Fury, half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson, has gone undefeated in nine fights. He threw 302 shots against Paul and hit the target 88 times. His rival, meanwhile, attempted 153 shots and touched his opponent 49 times.
