The Montreal Canadiens are relying on Cayden Primeau to defend their net against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.
This will be Primeau’s first game in 2023-2024. The 24-year-old secured his place in the CH squad after the training camp, but was not yet dressed for a duel.

Primeau has 21 games of experience in the National Hockey League. He maintained a record of 3-12-2, a save percentage of .871 and a goals-against average of 4.11.
The Canadian’s seventh-round pick (199th overall) in the 2017 draft played three games with the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge last year. With the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League, Primeau posted a .909 efficiency percentage and a 3.04 goals-against average in 41 games in 2022-2023.
Since the start of this campaign, Jake Allen has made three starts while Samuel Montembeault has made two automatic starts.
