The Devils were so sure Monahan would shoot that goalkeeper Nico Daws was already on his knees and defender Simon Nemec had dropped his guard.
All Roy had to do was head the puck into the empty side of the net.
“You dreamed of playing in the NHL from a young age. “It’s really incredible to be there and score the first goal,” said the number 89 when she returned to the dressing room.

“Sean was very patient. I was almost surprised to receive the pass, but I was ready,” continued the man, who was in his third NHL game.
“No coach would have blamed Sean for the throw. “It would have been a good move. But he let the sequence evolve to find a better play,” argued St-Louis.

Caufield plays “the Game »
Cole Caufield was pointed out by members of the Brotherhood last week about his lack of commitment, showing that he could be something other than a one-dimensional player only capable of taking one-timers from the faceoff circle.
He did most of the work on Juraj Slafkovsky's goal, recovering the puck in the corner of the ice. For his winning goal, he positioned himself in the gap in the middle of traffic to score a counter shot.
“Cole played a mature game,” praised his head coach. What I like about him is that he tries to do the things the game wants him to do. Sure, it's nice to play in space and have your touch, but the game won't always give you that. »
“You have to play the game and Cole is doing it right now,” he emphasized.
The Canadian will continue his journey with a visit to the Senators on Thursday evening. He will be looking to secure a third consecutive victory for the first time this season.
