A first win since January for the Coyotes

The Arizona Coyotes ended a terrible 14-game losing streak by defeating the Senators on Friday night in Ottawa, but that 5-3 win didn't come easy.

André Tourigny's men had not celebrated a triumph since January 22, when they beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2 at Mullett Arena.

The Coyotes' losing streak was the longest in the National League this season. The last to perform worse are the Buffalo Sabers with 18 losses in 2020-2021.

The fans of the local team experienced the full range of emotions at this meeting. The “Yotes” initially took a three-goal lead before their favorites celebrated a comeback in the second third.

They didn't like what the crowd expected, as Dylan Guenther scored on a power play early in the third period, lifting the club out of the desert. Matias Maccelli confirmed the victory of André Tourigny's men by hitting the target in an empty cage.

It was a shame that the Senators left the ice after this third straight loss. Vladimir Tarasenko, whose name is widely talked about in transaction rumors, was the best of his team with a goal and an assist, as was Shane Pinto.
