Behind-the-scenes allegations about Elon Musk’s controversial takeover of Twitter – now called X – are coming to light in court documents.

A former employee, Yao Yue, who worked as a senior software engineer, said she was illegally fired late last year in retaliation for her Internet posts questioning the company’s return-to-office policy, according to reports According to a lawsuit filed Friday by the US National Labor Relations Committee.

Yue was reportedly fired after trying to organize other Twitter employees who were upset by Musk’s sudden takeover in October and the company’s subsequent drastic changes to work requirements.

“Any manager who falsely claims that someone reporting to them is doing an excellent job or that a particular role is essential, remote or not, will be fired from the company,” Musk reportedly wrote via email, according to a CNBC report. Email Twitter employees.

“If you physically make it to an office and do not show up, the resignation will be accepted,” Musk said, according to Yue’s NLRB complaint, which allegedly angered several workers.

There are at least six other NLRB complaints against Twitter and Musk alleging retaliation. Three are closed and three remain open.

Many of the details are not immediately available, but FOX Business has filed a public records request for the documents.

Yue responded to Musk’s demand to return to the office with a post on Twitter in which he told his colleagues: “Don’t quit, let him fire you.”

According to the complaint, she was terminated a few days later in violation of the National Labor Relations Act.

“Ms. Yue alleges that Twitter singled her out for firing in retaliation for her attempt to motivate her colleagues not to resign so that they would have a better legal basis to challenge a separation from Twitter,” the document states, according to CNBC.

The complaint accused X of “obstructing, restricting and coercing employees in the exercise of guaranteed rights.”

As Portal reported, the company has denied wrongdoing in the cases in which it has filed statements.

A hearing on the case is scheduled for January 30 in San Francisco.
