Patrick Roy's New York Islanders continue to fight for a spot in the playoffs, and a fourth straight win over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night at UBS Arena certainly helped their cause.
The local favorites scored all the goals without conceding and won 4-2. Kyle Palmieri scored his fourth goal in two games following a hat trick on Saturday.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Bo Horvat and Mathew Barzal (empty net) also caused a stir. Goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin played a key role, staying focused and making 19 saves.
In the standings, the Islanders remain in fourth place in the Metropolitan Section with 68 points. However, they are only four points behind the Philadelphia Flyers, the Detroit Red Wings and the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are ahead of them.
