Lucy Watson’s husband passed away nine years ago. Then, suddenly, she sees him again in a recently filmed promotional video for a bar.
“There is no doubt that he is my husband,” Lucy Watson is sure. But that can’t be the case: her husband, Harry Doherty, died nine years ago as a result of excessive alcohol consumption, as the “Chron” reports.
What happened? The Indian restaurant “Spice Cottage” in Westbourne, England, posted a promotional video on Facebook last week. The 59-year-old woman also saw the video and couldn’t believe her eyes when she recognized her late husband at one point.
“The first time I saw the video, I was like, oh my god, this is Harry. It was crystal clear.” She played the video several times and came to the same conclusion each time.
“The video was taken last week”
His first thought was that the video must have been edited from archival footage. So she asked the restaurant, “How old are the pictures? You can see my husband and his son. Did he die in 2014??”
The reply came a day later, which only raises more questions: “We’re sorry to hear that. The video was taken last week,” the restaurant said.
Lucy Watson is irritated, but sticks to her theory that the restaurant must have used old material. “That’s the only thing I can think of.” Her husband died in 2014, that’s for sure. Had she seen a ghost here?
“He’s not dead, he was in the korma”
Facebook users who followed Watson’s order at the restaurant apparently see it differently. One user darkly commented: “He’s not dead. He was just in the korma” – in reference to Harry Doherty’s favorite meal, chicken korma.
Others suspect a similar story to what happened in England in 2002. At that time, John Darwin faked his death by staging a canoeing accident. He wanted to use it to collect a large amount of insurance – this criminal case was shown last year on British television as “The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe”.
Due to the many comments on the social media platform, the restaurant was once again forced to take a stand and eliminate possible misunderstandings: “The video was recorded on January 9, 2023”.
The interior of the restaurant was redecorated and new photos were taken. There used to be red and white tablecloths, but not anymore. This whole situation is “very unusual”.
