At a prison in Florida, USA, two prisoners tried to suffocate a woman who was guarding the place. Although the prisoners had no tools to commit the attack, they used a pillowcase to commit their crime.
The images recorded by the surveillance camera reveal the exact moment of the attack. One of the inmates, uniformed in orange overalls, takes the first step while the guard’s back is turned. Her partner immediately helps her and they lose themselves in the cameras’ field of view.

It was a matter of seconds before other inmates came to see what was happening. The group of women assisted the guard, identified by authorities as Lillian Jiménez. The attackers, named Bridgette Harvey and April Colvin, were charged with attempted first-degree murder.
A Washington Post report indicates that one of the inmates who rescued the security woman spoke to police and said the defendants orchestrated their plan a day earlier.

“A desperate situation eventually became the officer’s rescue,” said Tampa Hillsborough County Police Commissioner Chad Chronister.
He also highlighted the courage and honesty of the inmates who acted quickly to save the security personnel, whom he thanked for their actions.
“Although these prisoners have put our officer in danger, there were others who did the right thing by coming to his aid, that’s why I’m thankfull“, held.
