A 19-year-old man was arrested in western Mexico after he was seen holding his sister's head in broad daylight.
The suspect, identified as Sebastián, is said to have murdered 26-year-old Julieta in the municipality of Quiroga on Saturday, the Michoacán state prosecutor's office said.
Bystanders saw Sebastián walking with Julieta's head near a government-run clinic and called police.
Michoacán State Police officers found the teenager just steps from the clinic, arrested him without incident and confiscated a rifle he was carrying.

Authorities found Julieta's naked body on the ground at a gas station about 250 yards from the clinic.
The head was several meters away from the body.
Sebastián is currently being held by the Michoacán prosecutor's office while he is investigated for the alleged crime.
As of Monday, authorities had not said why Sebastián killed his sister or whether other people were involved.

The gruesome find was reminiscent of the discovery made by police officers in the municipality of San Mateo Atenco, in the US state of Mexico, when they arrested Lev Norman, who was carrying the head of Lucero Yazmin in a backpack, in October 2022.
The suspect was walking down an avenue with his body covered in blood when residents called the police.
The man was under the influence of drugs and was arrested and taken to a police station.
He confessed to the crime and revealed the location of Yazmin's body.
