An economics teacher at Collège Stanislas took advantage of the pandemic restrictions to have sexually explicit discussions with two of his students on social networks. Alexandre Gagné regularly sent them pornographic content in which he posed as a star.

The 49-year-old Montrealer was charged with very serious sex crimes against six minors, including sexual exploitation, sexual coercion and enticement. However, Alexandre Gagné got off lightly on Friday when he pleaded guilty to a single count of making sexually explicit material available to a minor.
An investigation by La Presse also found last spring that Alexandre Gagné had contacted other minors while working at other educational institutions, including the Liberté Jeunesse school in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lake and the Jean-Eudes College in Montreal. However, following our investigation, no charges were filed.
At the time, Alexandre Gagné was teaching at Collège Stanislas, a private institution that teaches the French curriculum. At the beginning of the pandemic, in spring 2020, he began chatting with two 16-year-old girls on the Snapchat application, a social network popular among young people.
His Snapchat group with his first victim was called “The 3 Little Pigs & The Slut.” During their conversations, Alexandre Gagné spoke very rudely about pornography to the teenager and asked her if she consumed it. He soon began sending her pornographic material pretending to be the man having sex in the videos.
Alexandre Gagné also bragged to the victim about having an Onlyfans account, a social network where people can offer erotic material for a fee. He seemed particularly proud of his sexual exploits and let the teenager know it in crude terms. He also bragged about participating in videos on the popular website Pornhub.
The same procedure occurred with the second victim, to whom he sent, among other things, photos of his penis. Alexandre Gagné also highlighted his sexual exploits and discussed sexuality with the teenager. In particular, he sought details about his sex life.
Judge Pierre Dupras ordered a pre-sentence and sexual report to be completed to determine the appropriate sentence. The minimum sentence to be served on weekends is 90 days because the charge was brought on the basis of summary conviction, which is less serious than an indictable offense.
The arrest of Alexandre Gagné caused an uproar at Collège Stanislas. La Presse also revealed that another teacher was under police investigation for sexual acts against two students. According to our sources, these allegations were swept under the carpet.
Last June, the college admitted the school's culture was no longer “in tune” with society and launched an independent investigation. The college was contacted by La Presse in the fall and refused to give us a copy of the “confidential” report. At best, an “action plan” was presented to families and employees last November.
