A Las Vegas judge was assaulted and assaulted by a criminal during a hearing after denying him bail.
Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus was in the middle of sentencing when convicted felon Deobra Redden lunged at her Wednesday morning.
Video footage shows the wild moment Redden leapt from his seat and onto the judge's bench to attack her.
As he throws himself at the shocked judge, Redden can be heard saying, “No, damn it.”
The marshal, along with the judge, tried to evade the attack, but Redden threw himself on both of them and began to brutally beat Holthus.

Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus was in the middle of sentencing when convicted criminal Delone Redden lunged at her Wednesday morning
In the footage, he can be heard repeatedly punching Holthus and shouting offensive language at her as security officers try to detain the crazed criminal.
The judge can be heard begging the criminal to get away from her.
Redden, ironically, was convicted of aggravated assault causing great bodily harm just before he launched his attack.
Judge Holthus suffered injuries as a result of the attack and her condition is being monitored.
The marshal was also injured and had to be transported to hospital after the brutal attack.

“We commend the heroic actions of their employees, law enforcement and everyone else who subdued the defendant,” the Las Vegas District Court said in a statement to Channel 13.
“The court remains committed to a safe courthouse and courtrooms.”
“We are reviewing all of our protocols and will do whatever is necessary to protect the judiciary, the public and our employees.”
