How to Make Baked Turkey
To prepare this delicious recipe, first prepare the filling. In a non-stick pan, fry the sausage until completely cooked. Then add the cooked and peeled chestnuts to the pan and fry everything for a few minutes. In a large bowl, mix together the stale breadcrumbs and whole milk. Let it rest for a few minutes so that the bread absorbs the milk. Add the bread and milk mixture to the pan with the sausage and chestnuts and season with salt, pepper, sage and rosemary. Mix all the ingredients well and the filling is ready!

Prepare the turkey for cooking. Wash it thoroughly and dry it carefully. Fill it with the filling, trying to carefully fill the entire interior space. Mash the butter with a fork and spread it over the entire surface of the turkey. Then season with salt, pepper, sage and rosemary and massage the entire surface well.

Place the turkey on a rack in a baking pan and cover with foil. Then cook for 20 minutes per kilo, in our case around 1 hour and 40 minutes. After this time, remove the foil and continue cooking the turkey for another 30 minutes or until the skin is golden brown and crispy. Once cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for about 20 minutes before slicing and serving alongside your favorite vegetable and potato-based sauces and side dishes.
