A look at the acting career of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky before entering politics
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has put Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in the spotlight, with many praising the 44-year-old man as a “true leader.”
Zelensky was elected in 2019, but before becoming President of Ukraine, he was a successful artist.
Zelenski initially received a law degree from the Krivoy Rog Institute of Economics, but instead of working in politics or law, he chose the entertainment industry. Until 2010, Zelensky was one of the best artists in Ukraine, with a career focused primarily on comedy.
In 2003, Zelenski’s production company, Quarter 95, began producing television shows.
The Ukrainian president is best known for the role he received in 2015, where he actually participated as President of Ukraine. In “Servant of the People” he plays Vasil Petrovich Kholoborodko. The storyline follows a schoolteacher whose policy scandal goes viral and puts him in the lead.

Zelensky launched his candidacy for Ukrainian president after the success of “Servant of the People”. The political party he leads is even named after the hit series. The political party “Servant of the People” was established in 2017 and registered in 2018.
In addition to his role in “Servant of the People”, Zelensky voiced the famous Peruvian bear Paddington in the Ukrainian version of “Paddington” and “Paddington 2”, confirmed by StudioCanal to The Hollywood Reporter.
