An American woman won a small jackpot in the lottery. But the latter made a mistake and couldn't get her winnings back.
A lottery winner's daydream quickly turned into a nightmare after she was a little too quick to brag about her win.
Drena Harris won $500 in the Indiana State Hoosier Lottery and was so excited that she quickly shared the good news on social media, local media outlet Indy100 reports.
Drena Harris posted her small fortune on Facebook and even uploaded a photo of the winning ticket as proof.
His jackpot was stolen by an internet user
But before she could claim her prize, a malicious internet user decided to beat her to it.
The anonymous fraudster used the photo of his ticket to defraud a store employee and get the money.
If Ms. Harris had made more money, it is unlikely that the scam would have worked.
In fact, retailers participating in the Hoosier Lottery can pay out cash prizes immediately, but not over $600.
By the time Ms. Harris realized what had happened, it was too late and the lottery commission refused to pay out another $500.
Drena Harris will now think twice before posting a winning ticket on her social media.
