Joel Richad Clarke has been arrested by SPVM investigators on a felony charge and is scheduled to appear at the Montreal courthouse this afternoon to face charges of first-degree murder.
According to our information, which the SPVM has not yet publicly confirmed, investigators are seriously considering the possibility that Ms. Iacono was not the actual target of the attack and that she was accidentally killed.
The victim was driving his car when he was shot before driving to his shop on rue Jean-Talon, near rue de la Savane. She was the owner of the local salon Deauville Coiffure & Spa.
Ms. Iacono was the wife of Antonio Gallo, son of Moreno Gallo, a former key actor in the Montreal Mafia who was murdered in Acapulco in 2013. The 39-year-old woman was the mother of three children. The living room in front of which the drama took place also belongs to a company called Antonio Gallo.
Before his death, Moreno Gallo was suspected of disloyalty to the Rizzuto clan during an attempted coup against the organization that resulted in multiple deaths.
