The “cold case” was not. Reported missing for 18 years in Germany and Spain and suspected of being the victim of a murder, a man was finally found in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland, where he lived a peaceful life, German newspapers Südkurier and 20 Minuten in Switzerland report.
Back in 2004. The private individual and his wife have been living in Spain for several years and have opened a car shop together. When he travels to Munich in Germany for a business trip, the man suddenly gives no sign of life. His worried wife finally reports his disappearance.

The man won’t worry
Much later, during a police check in the canton of Schwyz, a connection was made between the person who had disappeared since 2004 and one of the people checked. When the Spanish authorities are informed, the German police only confirmed the man’s identity a few years later, on the occasion of the creation of a “cold cases” pole.
Switzerland then confirms that he still lives in Schwyz. According to the Südkurier, he will not worry. The man merely consented to his wife being informed that he was alive.
“If someone leaves their old life behind, it’s none of our business, it’s private and we don’t ask any questions,” reports the German investigator from the same source.
