A man with a serious criminal past, who notably killed a woman in 1995, has an arrest warrant pending for the murder of a man in Chinatown last fall.

Dwayne Joseph, 46, is charged with the second-degree murder of Mohamed Azzeddine Riahi, 34, according to a warrant released Friday at the Montreal courthouse.
On the evening of November 6, Joseph allegedly stabbed the victim during an altercation on the streets of Chinatown in the Ville-Marie neighborhood of Montreal.

Police are analyzing the scene where a man in his 30s was stabbed to death in the heart of Chinatown in downtown Montreal on Monday, November 7, 2022.
According to the information at the time, there was a fight between several people and the victim before the latter was stabbed at least once in the upper body.
Heavy criminal past
The accused has a full criminal record. In particular, in 1996 he was sentenced to six years in prison for shooting dead a woman who was in the entrance of a building where drug addicts were standing.
Then, in 2005, he shot and killed a teenager during a robbery near Fairview Pointe-Claire on the West Island, according to a Montreal Gazette article published at the time.
In the last five years he has been convicted of death threats, possession of a prohibited weapon and drugs.
