A man was attacked by 40 crocodiles and then eaten after falling in an enclosure in Cambodia

In Cambodia on Friday May 26, a man was eaten by around 40 farmed crocodiles after falling into their enclosure, police said on the same day, AFP reports. This 72-year-old Cambodian man was trying to free a crocodile from its cage when the reptile pulled him inside after grabbing its stick. The crocodiles then attacked him and tore his body apart.

A previous case with a girl in 2019

“As the crocodile chased a crocodile out of an egg-laying cage, it grabbed its stick and threw the man into the enclosure.”said Mey Savry, the Siem Reap (Northwest) police chief. “Other crocodiles then pounced on him until he died”he explained, adding that the remains of his body were covered in bite marks.

In 2019, a two-year-old girl was eaten by several crocodiles from a reptile farm, also in Siem Reap, Savry added. Several reptile farms have opened near this tourist town in north-west Cambodia, which is the gateway to the Angkor temple site.
