A mascot is eaten in the Pop-Tarts Bowl

A video showing a Pop-Tarts mascot being devoured after the first edition of the Pop-Tarts Bowl has gone viral online.

On Thursday, after the Kansas State Wildcats' 28-19 victory over the NC State Wolfpack, the event's mascot was cooked in a giant toaster.

The mascot had a sign that read, “Dreams really do come true.”

Kansas State had the privilege of eating the first “edible mascot” in history. Head coach Chris Klieman and game MVP Avery Johnson took the first bites.

There was even a trophy in the Pop-Tarts bowl that contained real Pop-Tarts in a few places, including two in a balloon on top of the trophy.
