A masterful performance from Luka Doncic

Dallas Mavericks player Luka Doncic wrote his name in NBA history on Friday when he scored no less than 73 points in his team's 148-143 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

Doncic became the fourth player in history to reach this milestone and the first since Kobe Bryant (81) in 2006.

The other two players to achieve this feat are Wilt Chamberlain (4 times) and David Thompson (73 times in 1978).

This is obviously a high point for Doncic, whose previous best was 60 points in a matchup that ended in overtime against the New York Knicks in December 2022.

The 24-year-old Slovenian is the tenth player in NBA history to score 70 points in a game. He is also the second athlete to achieve this in less than a week. On Tuesday, Philadelphia 76ers representative Joel Embiid had 70 points against the San Antonio Spurs.

This is the first time two Silver Round players have earned so many points in the same week.
