A bride’s walk down the aisle was interrupted in the cutest way when her excited two-year-old son sprinted up the aisle to greet her.

Kristie Mihelich, 40, of Troy, Michigan, was starting her walk down the aisle to her groom Bobby Mihelich when their son Pierson stole the show.

Unable to contain his excitement when he saw her in her wedding dress, the toddler – who served as the ring bearer and stood next to Bobby at the altar – called out “Hello Mom!”.

Then he ran all the way up the aisle with open arms to hug his mother.

Heartwarming footage of the candid moment was shared on Instagram, where it quickly went viral.

The wedding took place on April 22 at the Planterra Conservatory in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

In the viral clip, Pierson wears a blue vest, white singlet, black pants and black bow tie while standing next to his father, the groom.

The groom is already getting emotional and fanning away tears before whipping out a handkerchief.

Guests are asked to stand as Kristie comes out in her wedding dress for the first time.

With the camera trained on Bobby and Pierson, it’s immediately clear when Kirstie is coming out – because Pierson’s jaw drops.

‘Hi Mom!’ he yells before breaking out into a big smile and waving both hands over his head.

The moment sparked laughter from the guests – who kept giggling as Pierson started running down the aisle to his mum.

“The sweetest moment of my life,” she captioned the moving clip, which has garnered more than 5,000 likes on Instagram.

While chatting to Good Morning America about the unexpected moment, Kristie admitted that while her son is very “outgoing and charismatic,” she didn’t expect him to have that reaction.

“It was the cutest thing. I thought he would just stand there and wait for me, but no, he ran to his mommy,” she said.

“We always wanted Pierson to be the ring bearer because he’s such an outgoing, charismatic, all-natural little entertainer, and we thought it was just the perfect role for him.

“The night before, at the rehearsal dinner, it didn’t really go that way. He really just wanted to run around the venue and just be a two year old.

“I thought it probably won’t be, but that’s totally fine because he’s here. It will happen organically as it is meant to.

“Well luckily he did a wonderful job in his own way and surprised us all with the happiest reaction to me when he saw me in disguise.”

“I honestly have never felt a sweeter moment in my entire life. And I’ll never forget that feeling,” Kristie gushed

Seeing her son’s sweet reaction meant a lot to Kristie, who described it as a “perfect day” overall.

“It was like a dream come true. I mean I couldn’t have painted a better picture of a perfect day. And it was literally like a movie,” she gushed.

“He was so happy he couldn’t hold back. He just ran down the aisle towards me and I’ve honestly never had a cuter moment in my entire life. And I will never forget that feeling.”

When it came time to celebrate, the mother-of-one revealed little Pierson danced the night away.

“Like I said, he’s like a little performer. He ate his dinner and went straight onto the dance floor and he didn’t leave the dance floor dancing until midnight,” she recalled.

Kristie is honored that the video has received so much attention online. The new bride added, “The more it’s shared the happier I am because we need happy things in life right now.”

She also added to the Today Show, “I couldn’t have planned it any other way and wouldn’t have it any other way – being so precious and sweet to his mum and dad loved it too.”
