A missile defender travels to Europe

Defenseman Otto Leskinen is leaving the Montreal Canadiens organization as he signed a two-year contract with Tappara de Tampere on Wednesday, a Finnish elite league team for which he briefly played in 2021-2022.

The 26-year-old hockey player returns to Tampere, where he scored eight points in 10 regular-season games and another 10 points in 15 playoff games. In North America, Leskinen’s successes have been mixed. His campaign ended prematurely that year when he underwent surgery on his left hip at the end of January.
