A French farmer from Fronton in Occitania discovered two of his animals, a donkey and a pony, horribly mutilated, with ears severed and genitals cut off.
“I don’t know how you could do something like that to a pretty weak animal. I don’t understand it,” Daniel Dallarmie told France 3 on Friday.
The farmer states that he never thought he would experience such a tragedy, he is the owner of his small herd that he has been tending for six years.
The man searched for the two horses that had not returned to the stable to eat before searching for them on the ground where he made the macabre discovery.
“We can’t find the words to express what I think about it,” complained the owner, who said he no longer sleeps and jumps at the slightest noise.
According to French media, the horses’ owner plans to install infrared cameras on the ground and bring his animals into the stables at nightfall.
The man, who says he has no problems and no enemies, contacted the authorities, who opened an investigation to shed light on this animal massacre.
