A new album from Cowboys Fringants this fall – Le Journal de Québec

Without being able to see them on stage, fans of the Cowboys Fringants can discover unreleased songs from their favorite group, as a new album is planned for the end of 2023.

It was the guitarist and main songwriter of the quartet, Jean-François Pauzé, who announced this on Monday evening in a video publication on social networks.

“Okay, well, it’s confirmed that there will be a new Cowboys album sometime late fall,” he said in that message, which barely lasted a few seconds.

The title and release date have not been announced.

Following the cancellation of the European tour and remaining concerts scheduled in Quebec so that singer Karl Tremblay could concentrate on his chemotherapy treatments, this unexpected announcement will certainly comfort Cowboys fans here and in France.

The release of the group’s latest album, Les Antipodes, on which we find the already classic songs “America is Crying” and “On My Shoulder”, dates back to October 2019. Since then, Les Cowboys Fringants had presented an album with songs taken from old sessions in the studio, Les nuits de Repentigny, in 2021.
