Apple is working on a new version of its Apple TV box. At least that’s what the always very well-informed Mark Gurman just confirmed in a Bloomberg article. Specifically, this overhaul should take place in the first half of 2024, our colleague warns.
What will Apple TV look like?
However, he believes that the very distinctive design of the case should be retained. However, we can expect a real change in the processor, which would be even faster than in the Apple TV released in October 2022. However, the latter embeds the A15 chip, which is also present in the iPhone 14.
The Cupertino company is playing pretty big because it’s struggling to impress in this very specific area of smart TVs. It only has a 5% market share compared to 28% for Roku and 30% for Amazon.
Another big question arises: will the new version of Apple TV offer video streaming in 8K? According to Mark Gurman, who provides no further details on the matter, the answer is no.
Finally, the idea of a new product that would include the functionalities of the TV box, a connected speaker and a FaceTime camera seems to have lost ground, even if internally it is not completely abandoned.

Finally, note that the Apple TV has been at the center of a controversy lately.
