A new classified document was found by the FBI at the home of former US Vice President Mike Pence on Friday, his spokesman told several US media outlets.

As was the case with Joe Biden and Donald Trump, secret documents were discovered at his home in Indiana, a Midwestern state, at the end of January.

This new search was organized on Friday in coordination between the FBI and attorneys for Mike Pence.

“The Vice President has ordered his team (…) to be fully transparent until this matter is resolved,” his spokesman Devin O’Malley said in a statement quoted by multiple media outlets.

In the United States, a 1978 law requires American presidents and vice presidents to submit all their e-mails, letters, and other working documents to the National Archives. Another espionage law prohibits keeping documents classified as confidential in unauthorized and unsecured locations.

The spokesman for the former vice president and federal police did not respond to inquiries from AFP.
