A flight attendant had shared the 10 most important items every traveler should have in their carry-on luggage on a long-haul flight.

Air New Zealand Inflight Services Manager Ben Whatman has been in the air for almost a decade and always packs his top 10 essentials when he flies.

Due to the dry cabin air, Ben always keeps an eye spray, facial mist, lip balm and spot cleanser on hand to prevent dry skin, lips, eyes and blemishes.

The frequent flyer also has noise-cancelling headphones and a Bluetooth device on hand to connect to the in-flight entertainment systems, as well as phone charging cables and lens cleaning wipes.

To stay organized, Ben also always packs a zipped holdall, notepad and pens.

“Airplane conditions often leave my skin and lips feeling dry, so I always carry lip balm with me. My favorite is Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 in Mint,” Ben told Kiwi Stuff.

A facial mist, Ben says, can keep your skin from feeling dry, and he uses the Dermalogica Antioxidant Hydramist in a 30mL travel-size.

“A spritz of this wakes me just before breakfast on long-haul flights. It keeps my skin nice and hydrated and I feel good for the rest of the flight,” he said.

To keep breakouts from appearing, Ben swears by Origins Super Spot Remover, which he says is an “absolute miracle product.”

“Travel and changing weather conditions can wreak havoc on your skin… If I see a little spot or pimple, it will go away in no time,” he said.
