Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro wrote on Twitter that he had spent some time in the hospital and that the first soldier was in stable but critical condition.

Col. Christopher Paris of the state police was also at the hospital where the injured soldier was being treated, state police said. Her current condition is unknown.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry also issued a statement expressing condolences.

“Our brave police officers fight every day to protect Pennsylvania communities.” As Attorney General, you know my office is with you,” she said.

Officials said Saturday night there was no danger to the public.

The incident came about a week after Pennsylvania state police officers shot and killed an 18-year-old street racer who authorities say hit them after refusing to stop.

One of the officers then shot the car, hitting Anthony Allegrini Jr., who died at the scene on I-95.

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s office is still investigating, but the Pennsylvania state police are not equipped with body-worn cameras, the Philadelphia Enquirer reported Thursday.
