He is accompanied by Dr. Jean Longtin, microbiologist and clinical expert supporting the scientific management of the MSSS pandemic.
The last public health press conference on the situation around COVID-19 is dated October 12th.
Public health had subsequently expressed concern at the steady increase in the number of people declared positive over the past four weeks.
On Wednesday, Quebec health officials reported six new COVID-19-related deaths, totaling 17,065 people who have died from the virus since the pandemic began.
A total of 1,934 coronavirus-positive patients are currently hospitalized, including 627 due to COVID-19.
Of these, 45 people are in intensive care, 26 of them because of the corona virus.
