Quebec film 23rd of December won the Jury’s Coup de Coeur award at the closing ceremony of the 26th International Comedy Film Festival in Alpe d’Huez, France last Saturday.
Screenwriter India Desjardins, director Miryam Bouchard and actors Virginie Fortin and François Arnaud were there to collect the statuette. Chaired by French actress Karin Viard, the festival jury consisted of director and author Stéphane Foenkinos and Quebec actor Antoine Bertrand.
It should also be noted that after a good run in Quebec theaters and grossing more than $2.1 million at the box office, December 23 will land on video-on-demand platforms this Tuesday. The film is still shown in several cinemas in the province.
