WorkJam is a global leader in digital workspaces for frontline workers. Its platform enables workforce orchestration: appointment management, communication, task management and training. Companies like Couche-Tard, Shell and American Eagle Outfitters use it.

Founded in 2014, the Montreal-based company has a presence in approximately forty countries and earlier this year raised $68 million in funding to support its growth. It employs 300 people.

“We are incredibly honored,” said Steven Kramer, CEO of WorkJam. I am extremely proud of the WorkJam associates who work with our customers who are at the forefront of using technology to drive employee engagement, career advancement and personal economic development of their frontline workers.”

42 percent of the companies on the TIME list are SMEs with fewer than 500 employees. The field of artificial intelligence stands out with 12% of the companies mentioned, that of sustainable development with 15%.

To make the selection, TIME solicited nominations from all areas of activity, in addition to surveying its global network of collaborators and experts.
