A Quebec doctor arrested for sex crimes –

A Quebec doctor who was disbarred for a year in 2018 for propositioning a female patient for sex has been arrested by the Sûreté du Québec in connection with sex offences.

The Integrated Anti-Pimping Squad (EILP) arrested Sébastien Paquin of Quebec on Wednesday in connection with sex crimes.

Sébastien Paquin, 40, was arrested in Quebec. He appeared at the Quebec courthouse before being released on strict conditions.

The man is accused of several charges, including providing sexually explicit material, obtaining sexual services for payment from a person under 18 years of age and communicating by means of telecommunications with an older person under 18 years of age with the aim of facilitating the commission of a criminal offence against them and indecent acts.

Multiple victims

According to police, these allegations relate to events that occurred in recent months. The crimes occurred in Donnacona, Beauce and Quebec. The investigation tends to suggest that the suspect may have caused additional casualties. Sébastien Paquin used social networks to contact the victims.

According to the register of the College of Physicians of Quebec, Sébastien Paquin still practices at the Saint-François d’Assise hospital.

His disciplinary file contains an important file. In 2018, he was disbarred for a year for suggesting sex to a patient he was examining.

“Three trip”

Those against Dr. Sébastien Paquin’s allegations date back to December 31, 2016, a few hours after he examined the 19-year-old patient who came to the emergency room with abdominal pain.

Less than 12 hours after being released from the hospital, Dr. Paquin this patient in a social network.

The family doctor since 2010 then engages in an exchange about “inappropriate sexual connotations” that lasts until January 4, 2017. Then Dr. Paquin invites the patient to take part in a “triple trip” with him.

The patient then ended the exchange by saying, “In my opinion, this conversation is not appropriate for a doctor to have with his patient,” the 60-page decision says.

After his withdrawal, he was able to return to work.
