The devastating fires on the island of Maui have terrified tourists vacationing in the American archipelago.

Marie Pier Brien Danylo, a young mother visiting the American state, explains how she has experienced the past few hours in an interview with TVA Nouvelles at 5 p.m.
“Most of the fires occurred on March 8 [août] in the afternoon and we were in the mountains to the south in Hana. when we came back […]Here we learned about the forest fires in the mountains. From the house we could see the smoke, we could actually see the orange glow,” said the Quebecer, who lives in an Airbnb in the east of the island.
The 12,000-strong western town of Lahaina was completely destroyed by the flames.

With the state of emergency declared, the family reviewed the solutions available to them.
Because the family of four is staying in an area unaffected by the fires, Maui citizens have advised them not to drive to the airport.
“Tourists have been asked to leave the country to keep resources for the city [résidents] Who needs it, but the airport is currently being used to accommodate people who have lost everything, who are coming from here and for those who have to go or whose hotel has burned down,” she told our manager. She says she regularly checks emergency alerts from local authorities.
