The internationally focused Quebec company Medicom, which specializes in the production and distribution of solutions for the prevention and control of infections, announced on Friday that it has bought the mask manufacturer Humask and its assets in Entreprise Prémont, which will remain Quebec.
The Louiseville company, whose production of masks was mainly used during the pandemic, will therefore suspend its activities in the city of Mauricie.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to providing high quality, state-of-the-art infection prevention and control solutions, we are pleased to expand the availability of these products to new markets and further develop the technologies into new solutions that meet the ever-evolving needs of the market.” “Commented Guillaume Laverdure, CEO of Medicom.
This acquisition extends the life of the Prémont Company.
“This transaction therefore ensures the sustainability and availability of our range of innovative protective equipment that we have proudly developed here in Quebec. I would like to personally thank all employees and partners who have worked directly or indirectly to make Entreprise Premont/Humask a leader in this field,” commented Luc Girard, former founding vice president of Entreprise Prémont.
Humask products can still be ordered directly via the Humask online shop until they are integrated into the Medicom shop.
