We want to bring the Rainbow Six universe to mobile devices so more people around the world can enjoy the experience [tir à la première personne] competitive, tactical and immersive, when they want and where they want, we can read in a blog post on the Ubisoft website.

Players can expect player-versus-player (PvP) matches, pitting two teams of five against each other, defense versus attack.

Attackers will use observation drones to gather information and then strategically penetrate through destructible walls, while defenders will barricade entry points and use spy cameras or booby traps to secure locations, we might read in the press release.

“By combining strategy and teamwork, players will experience close quarters combat as they switch between offense and defense to achieve victory. »

The title in the pipeline will be piloted by a new Ubisoft Montreal team fully focused on it, with the support of other video game giant studios including those of Quebec, Winnipeg and Halifax.

Ubisoft hasn’t given a release date for the game, but says in the reveal trailer that it’s the pre-alpha version, meaning the production hasn’t been released yet. The studio also invites anyone interested on its website (New Window) to participate in future testing of the game.

This announcement comes just over two months after Ubisoft Montreal released Rainbow Six Extraction, the latest installment in the video game series.
