There’s no denying that Atlanta Braves star player Ronald Acuña Jr. had a memorable day on Thursday.
It is already known that the 25-year-old athlete set an important baseball record on the evening against the Los Angeles Dodgers, becoming the first player to combine 30 home runs and 60 stolen bases in one season (Watch the main video).
It was also revealed on Friday that the outfielder had gotten married that day!
“I haven’t mentioned anything to anyone,” the Venezuelan admitted in comments reported by MLB.com. It was a bit of a surprise.”
In fact, Acuña Jr. linked his fate with that of his partner Maria Laborde during a secret ceremony held at a mountain home about forty minutes from the team hotel in the Los Angeles area. Angeles, according to the Associated Press.
The player revealed that he had planned the event several weeks in advance without talking much about it.
“Saperlipopette (“holy cow”), Braves manager Brian Snitker reacted when he found out about it. Honestly, it’s better that I don’t know about this kind of thing, but congratulations to him!”
