The Ottawa Senators are in the spotlight after mishandling a goalie change after the second intermission against the Buffalo Sabers on Tuesday night.
Goalkeeper Anton Forsberg stepped in front of the Senators’ goal at the start of the third period, unaware that the decision had been made to replace him with Joonas Korpisalo.
It was Travis Hamonic who had to intervene to notify his teammate. The veteran defender was kind enough to comfort poor Forsberg by giving him a loving pat.
Could DJ Smith have handled this situation better? All eyes are on the Senators head coach, who must get his team to the playoffs this season. The Senators have gotten off to a somewhat ordinary start and are in sixth place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 3-3-0.
