A serial scammer is now “persona non grata” at Desjardins – .

Serial con artist Solange Crevier was released three days after her conviction for fraud, specifically against Desjardins, who is appealing her sentence. However, the criminal is persona non grata at the credit unions, not found in any Quebec or Lévis branch.

The 59-year-old was sentenced to 18 months in prison on two counts of fraud and the production and use of forged documents.

Notably, she admitted to posing as her husband’s aunt in order to get hired as a consultant at Desjardins through a partner in the company’s recruitment process.

She had forged Johanne Richer’s driver’s license to avoid her own criminal record and get the job that would allow her to bill $500,000 over a two-year period.

At the time, the scammer had been hired by the Ministry of Culture and Communication under the pseudonym Solane Greuier. So the woman took advantage of this loophole to enter into two contracts with the ministry, one of which was false, resulting in a $10,000 scam.

Not welcome at Desjardins

The Court of Appeals agreed to hear Solange Crevier’s case Thursday and scheduled the case back before the court for November 24.

Until then, the woman was able to regain her freedom, but must submit to strict conditions.

Certainly the most unusual is that Solange forbids Crevier “not to be with or go to the Caisses Populaires Desjardins de Québec or Lévis”.

The scammer must also not be in possession of any banking documents “whether it be a credit card, ATM card, check or bank draft” that are not in their name. The same applies to identification documents such as a driver’s license or social security card.

The public prosecutor’s office did not raise any objections to the accused’s release during the further course of the proceedings.

Solange Crevier had previously been convicted of stealing computers from Bombardier and fraud at VIA Rail, who were also her employers.
