A series by Sophie Deraspe Motel Paradis on Club illico

A series by Sophie Deraspe: “Motel Paradis” on Club illico from October 27th

Finally there is a date: Sophie Deraspe’s new series “Motel Paradis” is available from October 27th at Club illico.

The trailer revealed Thursday is delicious as the director’s camera takes us in search of Jen Paradis, a young woman who, after a near-death experience, realizes that his sister Noémie, 14, did not commit suicide as believed.

“I walked on the side of death, I saw people I know, alive and dead. Then I was revived. There are things that have become clear”, says the main character played by Nahéma Ricci, who can be seen in the film “Antigone” and in the series “Bête noire” by the same director. The actress also defended a role in Les honorables, another Club illico original series.

place of investigation

Brought back to life and still injured, Jen is convinced her sister did not take her own life, as the inquest found three years earlier. It’s more like murder, she says. She then returns to her lost village of Val-Paradis to find out who killed her youngest, reminding then-investigator Renaud that the teenager’s body was never found. The latter, now retired, will support him in this adventure that doesn’t promise to be easy, as we can see from the pictures. Indeed, the people of Val-Paradis will not be pleased to see Jen and Renaud end up in their hometown. In particular, they will make an amazing discovery in room 35 of the Motel Paradis.

The staging describes the series as a police investigation coupled with an “examination of the soul”. Even with the perpetrator(s) identified, it is in the hands of Brigitte, Jen and Noémie’s mother, that responsibility for restoring justice returns…

distribution

In addition to Nahéma Ricci, the cast includes Pierre-Yves Charbonneau, Larissa Corriveau, Romane Denis, Martin Dubreuil, Stéphane Gagnon, Rémi Goulet, Isabelle Guérard, Elisapie, Guillaume Laurin, Anick Lemay, Chanel Mings, Alice Pascual, Vivi-Anne Riel and Éric , Gildor Roy and Edward Tremblay-Grenier.

Produced by Zone3 in association with Quebecor Content, the six-episode series is written by Stéphane Hogue and Sophie Deraspe.

More series will follow this fall on Club illico

Club illico must also release Xavier Dolan’s first series, The Night When Laurier Gaudreault Wake Up, as well as La Fault 3 and the very final episodes of Nous by the end of the year.
