In total, George Morrell received $8.3 million (CAN$11 million) in salary and bonuses and 5 monthly salaries during his three-month tenure with the company, according to CNN Business. Morrell made about $150,000 (just over $200,500 CAD) a day.
However, a source at Disney revealed to CNN that Morrell received 2 million less than the reported 8.3 million.
That total includes $537,438 (CA$718,000) to move his family to London when the post began and $500,000 (CA$668,000) for accommodation after his departure.
Also not included in the quantified benefits Morrell received is the home, which the ex-manager purchased for $4.5 million, which Disney bought back at the original price to recoup any potential depreciation.
Morrell will also receive an additional $4 million in the fiscal year ended Oct. 1, paid by Disney to repay the bonus he should have received for 2022.
Total compensation is expected to be US$10.3 million (C$13 million).
Geoff Morrell became Disney’s corporate affairs manager on January 24, 2022, and his departure was announced in April of the same year.
