A snowmobile destination in Charlevoix

Located in the Charlevoix Mountains, outfitter Lac Moreau's Auberge du Ravage is considered a preferred destination for snowmobilers. The new owners have gone above and beyond to make their site a must-see.

“With my group we took over the supplier in 2022,” explains Luc Lavoie, one of the co-owners. We worked to bring the place up to date by completely repainting the building and also updating the bar area, kitchen and more. We want the snowmobilers who come to us to feel comfortable and discover the extraordinary nature of Charlevoix. We really put the Lavoie signature on the website. »

TWO ACCESSES

There are two ways to reach this special place. First you can do it on the road via Saint-Urbain and follow the 381 to kilometer 55. You turn right and follow the forest road for 14 kilometers to the Auberge. You have space to park your vehicle and trailer.

The other way to get there is via the snowmobile trails. Access is via path 83, where you will find a well-signposted junction that will take you to the Auberge.

“Passing snowmobilers are welcome. “We offer them the sale of gasoline and also a catering service with a lunch starting at $25 for three courses,” explains Luc Lavoie. We know very well that they want a good meal when they take a lunch break. »

A PACKAGE

For enthusiasts who want to experience a Charlevoix adventure during their stay on site, there is the option to take advantage of the snowmobile package.

“We have 12 rooms in the inn, comfortable, each with a full bathroom. The snowmobile package includes bedtime, a four-course gourmet dinner and breakfast. This formula is very popular. Fans who want to take advantage of this need to act quickly. »

Given the winter we are currently experiencing, we couldn't ignore the question about trail conditions.

“The snowmobilers who visit us tell us the conditions are excellent. Honestly, we got a ton of snow, which gives us hope that the season will be extended into April. The mild weather of the last few days will not significantly impact conditions as we have plenty of snow. »

One thing is certain: if you go there you will discover Charlevoix nature at its best in winter. In peak season, up to six meters of snow can cover the landscape in a thick white coat. There are over 100 kilometers of cross-country trails on the outfitter's premises.
