A Sparkling Trailer For Wes Anderson’s New Movie – Radio-Canada.ca

This is Wes Anderson’s first film since Moonrise Kingdom, which was released in 2012, and is set in the United States. However, as with his three previous works, the shooting took place in Europe.

In Asteroid City, the area surrounding the city of Chinchón, Spain represents a fictional desert region of the United States. The action takes place in 1955 and takes as its anchor a school competition called Junior Stargazer, which organizes in particular stargazing.

However, the open-air seminar is disrupted by disturbing events such as a nuclear test and the appearance of flying saucers.

The film will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May before opening in North America on June 23.

The cast of Asteroid City brings together many of the director’s stalwarts, including Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman, Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe.

Among the new stars who have joined the Anderson family, we’re entitled to big names like Bryan Cranston, Steve Carell, Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie and Matt Dillon.

Let’s mention one notable absentee in the credits: Bill Murray. Wes Anderson’s favorite actor, with whom he has worked nine times, was unfortunately unable to be there due to the unfortunate illness of COVID-19 shortly before filming began.
