The 5.2-magnitude earthquake at a depth of 10km has hit central Turkey just days after two more tremors struck the border near Syria.

At 10:27 a.m., an alarm was sounded by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center that an earthquake had struck 40 km south of the town of Aksaray and 18 km northeast of Emirgazi.

It comes at a time when both Turkey and Syria had begun rebuilding homes for the millions displaced by the tremors.

More than 50,000 have been killed due to the ongoing destruction, but it’s unclear if anyone died as a direct result of today’s incident.
