This is Simon-Guillaume Bourget adding to the sad list of people who lost their lives after being hit by a van on Saint-Benoît Boulevard West.

The death of the 41-year-old man from Gaspé was confirmed in the last few hours at the Enfant-Jésus Hospital, when he had been in critical condition for a week.

As of Monday, three other people were hospitalized in Quebec following the tragedy. Of that number, one person is still fighting for his life while two others are in stable condition, the CHU de Quebec confirms.

The defendant in this case, Steve Gagnon, faces two counts of dangerous driving resulting in death. Other leaders should be added now that a third person has died.

The 38-year-old man punched a dozen people enjoying a sunny afternoon on March 13. Jean Lafrenière and Gérald Charest died shortly after the impact.
