ANKARA, Dec 2 – Turkish Anadolu Agency photographer Muntasir al-Sawwaf became the 78th journalist killed by Israel in connection with that Zionist state’s genocide against Palestine.
An airstrike on the Al-Daraj neighborhood south of Gaza City also killed al-Sawwaf’s brother and other members of his family.
According to Anadolu, after his injury, the photojournalist bled for about half an hour without being able to receive treatment until he was taken in a private car to the hospital, where doctors were unable to treat his injury due to the severity and the lack of it necessary means.
According to reports, the Zionist occupation forces’ artillery and aviation attacks also target the homes of journalists reporting on the situation there in order to kill their families.
Since Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian territories in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank began on October 7, more than 15,000 people have been killed, including more than six thousand children and four thousand women.
This Friday, the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, condemned the escalation of violence by Israel and reiterated his country’s call for an immediate ceasefire in the region, speaking at the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai. (Text and photo: PL)
